May 2025 Reading Prompts
April showers bring May flowers, and May brings a new set of reading prompts for those in need of some reading inspiration. This month is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage month and Mother’s Day is also this month, so our prompts will focus there.
As always, the books listed are merely suggestions, and you are not limited to only the books I have listed. Also, I haven’t read all of the suggested books. Some of them I pulled from other reader’s lists because the synopsis sounded interesting. Do your due diligence to check trigger warnings, etc before jumping in. Happy reading!

This month is Asian American & Pacific Islander heritage month, so let’s read a book (or two) written by an AAPI author. Here are a few suggestions:
Prompt #2: Read a book focusing on a mother/child relationship
Since mother’s day is this month, let’s read a book that focuses on a mother/child relationship. Here are a few suggestions. Some are dysfunctional while others are close-knit. Pick your poison.
