November 2026 Reading Prompts
It’s time for a new set of pop-up prompts. These are for anyone who needs a little nudge when deciding what to read each month, or for readers who want an extra challenge throughout the year.
Prompt #1: Read a book focusing on family drama.
As we move into the holidays, interesting family dynamics often result in all kinds of drama. Let’s read about other people’s to escape our own.
Here are a few other suggestions (there are so many more out there!):
- The Berry Pickers by Amanda Peters
- The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett
- The Names by Florence Knapp
- Pachinco by Min Jin Lee
- The Dutch House by Ann Patchett
Prompt #2: Read a historical true crime book.
For me, a true crime mystery is the perfect book to read while cozied up by the fire with a cup of hot cider.
Here are a few other suggestions:
- In Cold Blood by Truman Capote
- Highway of Tears by Jessica McDiarmid
- I’ll Be Gone in the Dark by Michelle McNamara
- While the City Slept by Eli Sanders
- Killers of the Flower Moon by David Grann
