February 2025 Reading Wrap-up and March Hopefuls
Despite being a shorter month I still read a ton of books. A lot of this probably had to do with the fact that I took a week off for my birthday to rest and recharge and did nothing but sit around and read. It was heaven!
This month I knocked two books off my “25 in 2025 TBR Challenge” list, I read two that satisfied some of my 2025 reading prompts, and one that satisfied a February monthly reading prompt. (I didn’t bother with the second prompt because it was to read one of my favorite books and I had already read all of them – obviously.) Here are my favorite books of the month and how I rated all of them:
5 Star:
- Devolution by Max Brooks (This satisfied my 2025 reading prompt of “Read a book set in the middle of nowhere”)
- Razorblade Tears by S.A. Cosby (This book was from my 25 in 2025 TBR Challenge)
4 – 4.75 Star:
- Notes on Surviving the Fire by Christine Murphy
- Seven Days in June by Tia Williams (This book was from my 25 in 2025 TBR Challenge)
- Death of the Author nu Nnedi Okorafor
- Black Woods Blue Sky by Eowyn Ivey (This satisfied my 2025 reading prompt of “Read a book that is a retelling”)
- Victorian Psycho by Virginia Feito
- Penitence by Kristin Koval
- This is a Love Story by Jessica Soffer
- We Could Be Rats by Emily Austin
3 – 3.75 Star:
- Unromance by Erin Connor
- An American Marriage by Tayari Jones (This satisfied my 2025 reading prompt of “Read a book that takes place over at least 5 years”)
- Good Dirt by Charmaine Wilkerson
- Famous Last Words by Gillian McAllister
- Water Moon by Samantha Sotto Yambao
- A Circle of Uncommon Witches by Paige Crutcher
- This Book Will Bury Me by Ashley Winstead
- Playworld by Adam Ross (This satisfied my 2025 reading prompt of “Read a book that is at least 500 pages”)
- More or Less Maddy by Lisa Genova
I have a few ARCs that I need to read this month and plan to get through more of my 2025 lists. I also got a full box from Book of the Month and intend to read as many of those as I can. If Aardvark’s hints pan out the way I expect, I’ll likely sneak one or two of those in as I am able.
Besides the books pictured above, I also hope to read the following:
- Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree (This will satisfy my “cozy fantasy” 2025 reading prompt)
- Symphony of Secrets by Brandon Slocumb (This will satisfy my “book focused on music or a musician” 2025 reading prompt)
- Cold Eternity by S.A. Barnes (ARC)
- Normal People by Sally Rooney (This is from my 25 TBR in 2025 challenge)
- The Staircase in the Woods by Chuck Wendig (ARC)
- Broken Country by Clare Leslie Hall (Book of the Month pick)
- Deep Cuts by Holly Brickley (Book of the Month pick)
- You Are Fatally Invited by Ande Pliego (Aardvark Pick)
- Ravensong by TJ Klune (This is from my 25 in 2025 TBR challenge)
