May 2025 Reading Wrap-up and June Hopefuls

I’m on a roll! I had another month with zero DNFs and nothing rated lower than 3 stars. I focused on reading several LGBTQIA+ titles in honor of Pride, and I finally tackled A Little Life. (My heart may never recover.) It was a powerful reading month overall, with some unforgettable highlights.

Here’s how everything stacked up in June. Keep scrolling to see what I’m hoping to get to in July!

Ratings for the month:

Month ahead:

Summer is in full swing, and the heat isn’t the only thing that’s intense. My TBR pile is looking a little out of control. (What’s new?) I went a little wild with book purchases in June (no regrets but still – these shelves are insane), and now my shelves are bursting at the seams. So this month, I’m making it a priority to tackle some of the newer additions before they become long-term residents. Thankfully, I don’t have too many pre-orders coming in July, so I might be able to catch up a little. Then again, who am I kidding? I’ve got unread books on my shelves that have been gathering dust for years. But hey, progress is progress, right?

I’m especially excited about some of the ARCs I’ve got lined up. Chuck Tingle’s newest release is on my list, along with Jimmy Juliano’s latest, which I’ve been dying to get my hands on. And I just know Tasha Coryell’s new one is going to be a wild ride. Alongside those, I’m hoping to knock out a few more titles from my TBR and chip away at my 2025 reading prompt list. Busy reading month ahead—and I’m not mad about it.

In addition to the books pictured above, I also hope to read the following:

  • The Bachelorette Party by Camilla Sten (to satisfy one of my July reading prompts)
  • Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver (to satisfy one of my 25 in 2025 reading prompts)
  • I Fell in Love With Hope by Lancali (part of my 25 in 2025 TBR challenge)
  • Songs for Other People’s Weddings by David Levithan (ARC)
  • The River is Waiting by Wally Lamb
  • Ruby by Cynthia Bond (to satisfy one of my 25 in 2025 reading prompts)
  • Junie by Erin Crosby Eckstine (to satisfy my other July reading prompt)
  • The Compound (A BOTM selection)
